Product Description
Cable grips are a practical and safe solution for the installation of electricity cables, control cables, communication cables and high-voltage cables. They are also used to relieve the force on a cable or hose by distributing the weight over a larger area.
Used for the installation of fibre optic communication lines either underground, overhead, through conduit or through enclosures. They will fit single cables or cable bundles, are easily installed on the cable and are reusable.
Material can be hot dipped galvanized, stainless steel and polyester. Cable grip using composite weaving method of single strand, double strand, three strands or multi-strand multi-layer.
1. Single Dragging Cable Grip - SGA/SK
2. Double Dragging Cable Grip - MGT/MK
The SGA/MGT/SK/MK series cable grips are designed specifically for lateral (sideways) dragging, bundling, or temporary cable securing. They are constructed of braided steel or synthetic mesh with different eye structures depending on the application.
| Model | Structure Features |
|---|---|
| SGA | Single eye, side-dragging grip for small- to mid-sized cables. |
| MGT | No metal head; highly flexible for narrow spaces or curved routing. |
| SK | Dual-eye type for balanced side-pulling and strain relief. |
| MK | Heavy-duty grip with reinforced mesh for large diameter or bundled cables. |
Single strands or multi-strand weave, cable head can wear out, Convenient installation and connection, suitable for drag and drop on moderate or severe cable. The Single Dragging Cable Grip is feature a strong galvanized steel or stainless steel, single weave mesh. A flexible eye easily attaches to a pulling line, snake or fish tape. Designed to pull building wire, Junior grips are safe tools to use in pulling wire at low tension through conduit during electrical construction.

The following steps ensure safe and reliable installation of side-dragging cable grips for horizontal or lateral pulling applications:
1. Preparation
Straighten and clean the outer surface of the cable to remove dust, oil, and debris.
Check that the cable diameter is within the applicable range of the selected grip model.
2. Insertion
Slide the cable into the mesh body from the open end.
Ensure the cable is fully inserted so the grip surrounds the pulling area properly.
3. Wrapping and Positioning
Wrap the mesh tightly and evenly along the cable.
If using a double-eye or lace-up type (e.g. SK or SGA), pull the grip evenly on both ends to maintain balance during pulling.
4. Securing
Use cable ties or binding tape to secure the mesh tail to the cable for additional anti-slip safety.
Optional: apply heat-shrink tubing over the grip for enhanced grip protection and weatherproofing.
5. Load Testing & Final Check
Before pulling, apply a light manual tension to check that the grip tightens evenly and doesn’t slip.
Ensure there are no sharp edges nearby that could damage the mesh during dragging.
Multiple Strength Grips are ideal for overhead transmission and distribution line stringing where moderate loading is anticipated. They are economical tools for attaching conductors to pulling lines and double socking for conductor to conductor connections.
With this kind of cable pulling grips, cables that have already been laid can be pulled further without having to reposition the cable winch. This is an easy way to perform regulating and alignment operations. Cable Connection would gladly advise you about the size of cable grip you need. If desired we can send you the sample to check. We are always looking for the best solution after all.
